April to June recap

It's been a while since I've posted, and usually that is because I don't think I have anything "interesting" to post about…So whats been going on:

April- the highlight of april was having a good friend from Germany come visit over Easter weekend. We rented a car and headed down south to Killarney National Park, which houses the highest peak in Ireland, carrauntoohil. Spent two days hiking the area and of course we had to go to the peak too!

May:  This was a very busy month for me. Was in Finland for a seminar for four days at the beginning, had to work more days, ran a 10k (my first and possibly last!), and then was at another seminar at the end of the month. Felt like I didn't even have any time for myself the whole month! Thankful to be into June and back into my old schedule.

June: With the arrival of June, I anticipated summer as well, but turns out that summer in Ireland so far is just like spring and winter, except slightly warmer and slightly less rain! Hopefully the weather improves a bit. My parents are coming towards the end of the month, its their first trip to europe so I hope they enjoy it here!

Otherwise, things are okay. I love my job, I have everything I need, I truly cannot complain, but working to overcome some emotional difficulties that are holding me back. Being a "grown up" is much more difficult than I imagined, especially when I feel so much like a child still. Every day my confidence is growing, and every day I get humbled and realize just how much I don't know. I am seeing new characteristics in myself that I didn't know I had in me…both good and bad, and characteristics of my parents in me….again both good and bad. I am empowered and lost, I am confident and scared, I serve others and am too selfish,  I am an adult and immature, I am knowledgeable and I don't know enough all at the same time. Its confusing! When does it all just "click" into place? Trying to find my balance...

Until next time….
