One month of Gratitude

For the month of February, I challenged myself to write down three things per day that I was grateful for. In an attempt to help myself see more positive things in my life. I know that I have a great life, but sometimes, especially in winter, it is easy to get into a funk and even a little depressed.

So how did I do? I managed to do it everyday, and once I got past the standard things to be grateful for some interesting things came out of my head. Here are some examples of some of the things I was grateful for:

I am grateful for...

my relationship
my health
living in a safe country
my job
my family
clean water
public transport
interesting conversations
lazy days at home
weekends
getting out of my comfort zone
long walks
hot showers
learning
new opportunities
travel
new experiences
freedom
for recognizing the small and big things that make life worth living

Did it change my brain... I don't know. But even into the first week of March, I am noticing and appreciating the little things more. Trying to grateful for all the gifts in my life. I hope to keep up this attitude of gratefulness year round, especially when times get tough, to help keep things in perspective.
