2.5 weeks in Southeast Asia- part 1
If you can believe it, 2.5 weeks is the longest vacation L and I have taken since we have been together! We decided last year we wanted to go to Southeast Asia, and after some research and finding some really affordable flights, we booked our flights to Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand.
What was important for us, was not to see everything, but to enjoy our limited time in each country to get a feel for the culture and maybe see a few things as well. This said, our time in Singapore was pretty busy, thanks to our local tour guide, (Thank you Kush!), while Malaysia and Thailand were definitely more relaxed. So check out our highlights below.
Singapore
A very interesting and beautiful city/country. We were both immediately captivated by this small place. The incredible mixture of cultures and religions as well as all the contrasts in the city. Not to mention shopping, shopping, and more shopping. Stunning high rise buildings as well as old shop houses and temples next to yet more shopping centers. 5 star restaurants next to Hawker food centers. This city is expensive though. But if you stick to eating to the Hawker centers/ food courts you can save a lot. I would love to go back one day and keep exploring this lovely city.
