A love letter to the Stadtwald

Dear Stadtwald,

I love you the most in the morning time. The way the quiet envelops me like a hug. And that warm embrace gives me energy to go on with the rest of the day. I like sitting in your secluded meadows in the afternoon, soaking up the sounds of nature and a bit of sun. In the evening watching the sunset through the trees stimulates so much creativity and wonder.

The trees inspire me to be kind, to remember how small I am, and remind me of how incredibly important nature is.

In the fall, you are amazing. The different shades of color everywhere. The warm colored leaves falling slowly towards the ground. Yellows, reds, oranges. Many people stop and stare at you in fall.

When it's raining, there is the sound of the drops falling from leaf to leaf and then finally plopping heavily to the ground. It is so soothing. When its foggy or cloudy, the way the trees get lost in that white misty pillow of white astound me.

You are not just a park, you are a highway for many bikers, home to many animals, an oasis in the middle of a busy city, a safe haven.

No matter what the season, time, or weather. You are beautiful and you inspire me. I promise to never take you for granted because I get to see you every day. I promise to never litter in your beautiful forests or meadows. We are all a part of nature and we must respect it and protect it.

Love,

A
